Green Ideas

Dear Teachers,

Our school is dedicated to Climate Justice and Environmental Stewardship. With that in mind, The PTA would like to suggest green ways to decorate for events that does not require balloons.

Balloons made from natural latex are marketed as “Environmentally Friendly”. Unfortunately, it can take years, under ideal conditions, for a latex balloon to decompose. Also, Helium is a finite resource needed for MRI scanners, cryogenics and lasers among other scientific applications. (https://balloonsblow.org/ ).

Luckily, there are many festive alternatives to balloons. Here are some ideas we encourage you to look into:
